JULY SKILLS
Entering Kindergarten
Entering Grades 1-3
Summer Skills program offers language and literacy development for students entering Kindergarten, 1st - 3rd grades using Montessori hands-on learning materials and a research-based reading approach.
There are two groups: Entering Kindergarten Only & Entering Grades 1-3.
Language and literacy assessments inform learning plans that are tailored to each student's individual needs. Students participate in small-group lessons, individual workstation activities, and one-to-one tutorials. Students benefit from additional time on learning and high frequency practice to reinforce new concepts.
We are excited to offer this program through our Academic Skills Center led by experienced Montessori teachers with expertise in early Language and Literacy development.
Students have the option of registering for the academic program only (8:30-3:00) or a full-day combination program that includes participation in afternoon activities (7:30-5:30).

Upper School Summer Skills

ENGLISH LANGUAGE ARTS

- Greek/Latin Roots & Spelling Rules
- Vocabulary Development & Grammar Study
- Tools to construct the perfect essay using graphic organizers
- Summer reading – better together!
MATH
(Laura Davidson)
- Fast math using mental calculations
- Using logic/reasoning skills & word problems
- Math lab (challenges applied to real world experiences)
- Essential skills for test taking
Students have the option of registering for the one week or both weeks.
Students registering for both weeks is preferred - the second week builds upon the first week's lessons for those students who are registered for two weeks.
