Turkey Chores and Thanksgiving Community Service

Help us help others this season as we give thanks for all of our blessings.
This year at Harborlight, we would like to continue the tradition of providing complete Thanksgiving dinners to Beverly families in need whose children are enrolled in the Head Start Program.
Through our Turkey Chores program, each classroom will assemble a Thanksgiving dinner
Here is how it works:
1. STUDENTS EARN MONEY TO BUY TURKEYS BY PERFORMING CHORES AT HOME. Each child from
Children's House through Middle School receives a “Turkey Chores” envelope or booklet and is asked to perform four household chores. For Children’s House, after the chore is completed, students will tape a quarter in the booklet (total donation-$1.00 per student). For the Lower Elementary, Upper Elementary, and Middle School, families will decide the amount for the chores and place the money in the envelope provided.
All money is due by Monday, November 22nd -please give the envelopes to your child’s teacher.
2. STUDENTS BRING IN A FOOD ITEM. In addition to the money raised for the turkey, students are assigned one food item to contribute to the dinner that their class is assembling. All items are also due by November 22nd. There will be a laundry basket outside of each classroom to collect items.
Turkeys will be purchased using the money raised by the children, the dinners will be assembled, and the donations will be delivered to Head Start by the Middle School students. If you are interested in helping, please let Elisa Pitkin know at epitkin@harborlight.net
