Upper Elementary Entrepreneurs Form “Le Perle”

Upper Elementary students have busy creating beautiful jewelry to raise money for Children’s Hospital.

There are so many wonderful things about this. The idea began with a way to celebrate Montessori Week. An idea was hatched to honor her work and legacy by using some of her beautiful teaching materials as the inspiration for jewelry. The students have learned to make these special pieces in the classroom and also enjoy it as a quiet, practical life activity during their independent work time. There was also a need to design a business plan, a name, a logo, pricing, and more. This required collaboration, teamwork, creativity, and many other skills that are essential to their success.

Finally, and importantly, they needed to determine the charity they would like to support.

We are very proud of them for their passion, their enthusiasm, and their kindness.

Looking for a way to brighten your day and the patients at Boston Children’s Hospital?

Upper Elementary students are offering a variety of handmade jewelry to purchase towards this cause during Montessori Week. All the profits will go to the charity: Boston Children’s Hospital. Montessori Week is a week celebrating Dr. Maria Montessori and how she created an education for kids all around the world.

The name of the jewelry business is Le Perle; in Italian that means “the beads.” The reason why it is translated into Italian is because Dr. Maria Montessori was Italian.

What better way to help children thrive, as did Maria Montessori, as well as honor her life than to use her bead cabinet as an inspiration for our jewelry. The colors of our beads are based on the Montessori bead bars. For example, red=1, green=2, pink=3, yellow=4, light blue=5, purple=6, white=7, brown=8, dark blue=9, gold=10.

We thank you, in advance, for the support you are giving to us and the Boston Children’s Hospital.

You should definitely buy our Montessori Merch!
