Inclusivity Sip and Share: Gender Identity

March 26 @ 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm

Thursday, March 26 5:30 – 6:30 pm in Upper Elementary 2
Many of us work hard to not reinforce gender stereotypes with our children.  But are we as confident talking about what gender identity means and how it differs from sexual identity? Maybe your child confidently identifies with the gender assigned to them at birth but has questions about a friend or classmate who does not.  Perhaps your child doesn’t express her gender as the one assigned at birth.  How do we talk about gender identity with our children in an age appropriate, supportive, respectful way, and how do we know when to seek expert advice?  Please join us for a discussion about gender identity from a parents’ perspective.  We will be joined by a guest parent of a transgender child and hear about her experiences.
This is meant to be a casual evening of discussion with parents and teachers of children at all age levels.  Please bring your favorite snack and/or beverage, along with any of your favorite resources on the topic of gender identity.  Middle School babysitters will be present to look after children age 3 and up, but please rsvp in advance so we have an accurate count.  Please rsvp to Deb Thomas at .
